About Us

“Good friend, I am building this bridge for him” - Will Allen Dromgoole

Male Mentoring Matters is a transformative mentorship program intended specifically for middle school and high school young men in urban communities, with a focus on Plainfield, New Jersey. Our program is founded on the conviction that every young man has the potential to become a leader and make a positive impact in their own lives and the world around them. We provide guided mentorship, positive behavioral interventions and support, and a curriculum tailored to support young men in realizing their academic, physical, emotional, and social goals. Through strategic partnerships with schools and community groups, we aim to bridge the gap for young men who may lack positive male role models in their lives. At Male Mentoring Matters, we are committed to empowering young men to become the leaders of tomorrow, equipped with the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to succeed in all aspects of life.

Community Events:

Youth Leadership Conference

Saturday, June 8th, 2024

Plainield, New Jersey

The conference is open to scholars in grades 5-12 that reside in the  Greater Plainfield Community and is free of charge. The event is designed to provide scholars with access and information aimed toward uplifting their mental and emotional well-being, promote personal and academic achievement, and empower students by introducing them to exemplary role models who are leaders in law enforcement, business, education, and in their community. Throughout the day, principles of manhood are discussed and taught explicitly by men that have walked the road that many of our scholars walk. Young men will engage in interactive, yet collaborative workshops facilitated by various professionals, educating them on important topics such as, financial literacy, college/career readiness, leadership, and relationships. High school scholars will have the opportunity to seek employment from this fair.
